Scuba diving - Taking the Plunge
Scuba diving allows you to explore the magical marine world below the sea with a
feeling of weightlessness akin to that experienced by astronauts in space. You
escape into the magical world below the sea and experience the tranquil beauty
and vibrant colors of the underwater wonderland.
Here you get a
delightful introduction into the undersea world even if you are an inexperienced
diver. Scuba diving and Snorkeling are conducted from Devbagh
Beach Resort, Karwar through the watchful eyes
of Venkatesh Charloo & Karen Gregory of M/s. Barracuda Diving India, the
only PADI instructors (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) in India.
The program is
conducted during the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month during the season
(November to May). The diving program offers a personal and unique opportunity
to experience the fun and excitement of scuba diving in the comfort and safety
of our PADI instructors and once can enjoy the following activities in the
program
- Peep into the
future: a short video introducing a person to Scuba Diving
- Casurina
Classroom: an informal class with skills demonstration and safety briefing
- Reefwatch: Silly
fish signs! A fun way to learn about fishy friends
- Dip in:Let's get
wet! Shallow water practice
- Dive in: Off you
go! Glide away for a guided tour, hand in hand with your instructor, to go
beyond your wildest dreams.
Get
Certified!!
The Scuba Diving Program may be used as credits towards an International
Diving Certification.

Diving program:
proceed to a nearby island in the Arabian sea by speedboat and do diving under
the supervision of the instructors – Rs 3000 (same rate for Indians &
Foreigners. Stay at Devbagh Resort extra).
