Events in Amsterdam for April 2012

Radio 538 - Museum Square, Queen's Day

Last year 300,000 people visited the Radio 538 Queen's Day party at the Museum Square and this year it'll be even bigger. From noon until 21.00 various artists will perform at the square. The line up of performers is always top secret, but rumor has it that the Script, Adele and the winner of the Voice of Holland - Ben Saunders, will be there. Armin van Buuren is the radio 538 resident DJ so he will probably close off the evening with one of his amazing Trance sets.

Sounds from the Loft - Amstelveld, Queen's Day

If you are looking for a place where you can dance all day long then the Sounds from the Loft party at Amstelveld is the place to be. A line up of top DJs will bring you a mix of Disco, Funk and House music, combined with vocals, drums and great bass lines. So bring your groove thing and wear your dancing shoes!

Royal Queen's Day Party - Q Parking Marnixstraat

If you want to experience the famous Dutch Techno sound, head over to the Q Parking on the Marnixstraat. The ground floor of this parking garage will be transformed into a venue where the best DJ's will play their old and new school classics. Q Parking is the place to be if you want to experience that early rave feel again.

Queen's Day Classic Rock Festival - Nieuwmarkt

Looking for an escape from all the Dance and Pop music? Then head over to the Nieuwmarkt for SSIK, a kiss tribute band and The Jack's On Five who will pay their tribute to this classic Rock music. Expect lots of beer, air guitar and long hair!

Dutch Party Square - Thorbeckesquare

Just like previous year the Thorbeckesquare will be the place to be for some good old Dutch entertainment. Radio NL together with the DJs Bart and de Willem de Wijs will turn the square into one big Dutch party. Even if you don't know the words it's nice to shout along with the Dutch songs and get a good impression of how the Dutch have fun.

Market - Vondelpark

The Vondelpark is the place to be if you want to relax for the day. The Park will turn in to one big market where children only delve into the world of retail to earn a little bit of extra pocket money. Be prepared to see kids drumming, dancing, telling jokes and playing games. There's no need to bring food or drinks. The park will be filled with lemonade stalls and little girls selling cupcakes.

Market - Jordaan

For a shopping experience that's a little more grown up, go to the Jordaan - Amsterdam's oldest and most beautiful neighborhood. This is the perfect place to find that unique present, the dress you never knew you wanted or a pretty vintage bag!
